• The LG did not make the all-star team. I wasn’t there for the tryouts but BJ said it was a fiasco from the beginning. The poor kid gets himself so stressed out about being perfect that he ends up making mistakes. He felt horrible. I felt horrible for him. They asked to make him an alternate but we decided that would be torture. He’d go to all the practices and the game only to sit on the bench and hope for someone to get sick or hurt. That is not a cool position to be in and we felt it best to just remove him from the hurtful situation. We did, however, sign him up for a 4-day baseball camp next week and he’s excited about that. Whew! Distractions are great!
• His team played an awesome game yesterday and will now play in the championship game tomorrow! They had mediocre pitching and made some mistakes in the field and were down by 3 runs in the bottom of the 6th (last inning). One boy hit and got on base, another boy was walked and then another boy was walked. One of our better hitters got up and smacked the ball and drove in 3 runs while he was still on 3rd base. It was time for the LG to bat. He had been walked twice and hit a double earlier in the game. We didn’t have any outs. I was so nervous. I knew the winning run was on 3rd and hoped that the LG was able to hit the ball as a sacrifice and bring the 3rd base runner home. He was almost hit with a pitch and I hoped that he wouldn’t get walked. The next pitch came and he hit the ball into the infield by the pitcher. The pitcher scooped up the ball and instead of trying to hold the runner at 3rd (not a force out since no one was on 2nd) he threw the ball to first and got the LG out. We scored and won the game! It was so exciting. So now we play our last game of the season tomorrow. I hope we can pull it off. The team we are playing is tough to say the least. I don’t like their cocky attitudes and we have lost to them twice already. Wish us luck!
• I was finally able to get an appointment with my OB. I’m scheduled for July 3 at 1:15. That seems like an eternity away…I will have to put my patient hat on because there’s nothing I can do to change it.
• I also made an appointment for the scan with the MFM office. That appointment is not until the 16th! They said I’d have to meet with the genetics counselor due to my advanced maternal age. I had to fess up that we did DE and used a 22-year old’s eggs so that was not necessary. BJ said he’s coming to that appointment for sure. He was bummed about missing the last scan.
• I think I’m telling my parents this weekend. From the way I’m feeling I’m going to venture out on a limb and say that everything is still going good in there so it’s time to let them in on the joy.
• This weekend’s weather is supposed to be spectacular. I can’t wait as I love the lower humidity and the sunshine. Tomorrow morning will be a perfect time to work out in the yard since last weekend it was too hot and muggy to do so. My flowers need trimmed so that more can grow. I’m so happy with my petunias…I put 2 small plants in each pot on our porch and they are over flowing with blooms. I love it!
• Sunday is Father’s Day and I have nothing planned for BJ. We are picking the LG up around 2:00 or so and will probably go and get some steamed crabs, but other than that…I got nothin’. There’s really nothing to buy him and a card will get read and then put aside. I think spending time with his son is the most important thing anyway.
• The sadness that has engulfed the blogosphere this week is truly upsetting. I’m a follower of one of the ladies that suffered a horrible loss but do not know the other 2. However, my heart breaks for them and their families. And selfishly, I fear for myself. I can’t imagine their pain or what they are going through…it seems unbearable. I told BJ about it and told him that I guess we’re never really safe. It sucks that these bad things happen to such good people. And it’s not like I can stick my head in the sand and just ignore the possibility that this could happen to us. I’m not going to dwell on it but it’s always there in my mind. I’m so very sorry that these ladies have to endure these tragedies. It really does break my heart.
• I’m always touched by the support and encouragement I get from my readers. I am so grateful to have you all out there. You know exactly how to lift my spirits and put my mind at ease. I love opening my e-mail and seeing messages from you. Especially those of you whom I have not heard from on your own blogs in a long time. I love it when you drop in and wish me well. Thank you all! I hope you have a good weekend or at least as good of one as you can.

- Opening day of little league is Sunday!! We have pictures tomorrow and then the first game on Sunday. I can't wait. They have missed 3 practices due to rain so I don't expect a lot out of them Sunday but I'm still so excited to watch.
- I'm sick to death of this weather. We get 2 Spring days, a Summer day and then 3 Winter days...what the hell? I'm tired of the clouds and the cold rain. I really need Spring to get here...heck, at this point I'll jump right into Summer. Bring on the heat!
- I'm worried about the trees in my area. They had just begun to bud and then we had below freezing temps and snow for 3 nights in a row and now they look almost brown again. I've been watching them like a hawk and I'm not liking what I'm seeing. The younger trees are bright green and look great but the more mature trees look like they are heading back into Fall...not good.
- We are going to the Nursery tomorrow afternoon to take a look at the proposed landscape plan. I'm looking very forward to seeing what he came up with. We will do most of the work ourselves but having a plan put together by a knowledgeable professional will come in very handy indeed.
- My injections are going well. The evening session of mixing and injecting 3 different substances is a bit time consuming but I'm getting it done. I had a mishap this morning with my Gonal-F. When I pulled the needle out a few drops of the medicine along with some blood came back out. I freaked out a little but after those couple of drops nothing else came out. I don't think it was enough to really concern myself with but still. I had been doing so good and only had 2 bruises up until that happened. Now I have a nasty new bruise.
- My tummy is sore to the touch. This is new for me as I wasn't sore at all last time. I find myself bending differently and pulling my pants down just slightly to ease the pressure. I don't think I feel any ovary growth yet, as in my pants are not tight around my belly, it's just sore.
- I've been saying many prayers lately regarding my ovaries. I've been praying to God daily that He is allowing this medicine to do good things with my follicles and eggs. I'm keeping a very positive attitude and trusting that everything is working properly in there.
- I have my scan and blood work tomorrow morning at 8:30. I'm glad these checks have been on the weekend so far, although it cuts into my morning snuggle time with my honey, it saves me from driving into work and taking a chance at being late. If all goes according to plan, my ER will be on a Sunday and no one will have to take any time off for it. Fingers crossed.
- I have not been deemed important enough by PETA for even their form letter, which is fine. I don't need to get all riled up about it again. Damn if they don't piss me off, though. I've still been reading the responses others are getting and it's just so unfortunate that they just refuse to stop and THINK. I think the animals they are trying to save have more brain power than the employees of that crazy organization. Eff them.
- My moods are evening out nicely. Other than my blowups at traffic, I've been pretty good. I don't feel like crying at everything and BJ doesn't seem so annoying anymore. :-) I'm still very tired and I think the meds are backing me up, if you know what I mean. I've only had 2 "meaningful" trips to the bathroom since starting the Lupron. Aside from an OTC laxative and prune juice (which I hate) is there something I can do to help move things along?
- I'm thinking of taking the week of Spring Break off. My new boss will be out all but one day that week and it will be during the time of ER and transfer (hopefully) and the Little Guy will be out of school and it could be a good chance for a "TeeJay and Little Guy Day". We haven't had one in a while and he has asked me a couple of times when we were going to do that again. We usually go to the movies or the mall and get lunch or a special treat. The more I think about it the more I want to do it.
- As I'm typing this it feels like my ovaries are swimming a little bit. I hope that means good things. I also hope it's my ovaries and not my constipation causing the feeling as I have only been on the stims since Wednesday morning. :-)

On to the Weekend
I'm so ready for the weekend. And this is after I was off on Wednesday. I have Spring Fever like no one's business. I can't wait for the 55 degree weather with the sunshine that is forecast for us. I'm so over Winter.
I had my ob/gyn annual on Wednesday. I was feeling pretty darn lucky that I didn't see any preggos in the office. What a relief. There was only a 17 year old girl there for her first pap. Her mom recognized me from the commuter bus we ride and spilled her guts. I'm sure her daughter was mortified. Poor thing.
I went in and was weighed and was very surprised that I didn't weigh nearly as much as I thought I did. I'm still a lot flabbier than I want to be, but at least the number was lower than I expected.
When my doctor came in she asked me what was going on. I proceeded to tell her that I'd like to take 50mg of Clomid next cycle and she asked me why. I told her about the failed IUI's and the failed IVF. I also told her that while I thought Dr. M was very nice, I don't feel like he (or anyone) tried to figure out why I wasn't getting pregnant. They just wanted to lump me in with other "cases" and "typical numbers". She said that she didn't want me to think that just taking Clomid would work. And I assured her that I had no illusions but that I needed to feel like I was doing something. She agreed to write the script. What confused me was that she wants me to take it on days 5-9 instead of days 3-7 like I have previously. I didn't ask her why at the time and I could kick myself for it. I haven't had the chance to search google for the difference, either. Maybe some of my well versed readers could help me out with that one. She didn't seem to be concerned with my new lighter and sometimes shorter cycles so that's good. All in all it was a good appointment and I'm glad I asked her for the drugs.
We are taking the Little Guy to get him signed up for baseball tomorrow. Then he has to get all new baseball gear as he grows like a weed and will need new stuff. He then has a b-day party to go to in the afternoon. Then on Sunday he has his last basketball game. It will be a busy weekend again for us. I'm looking forward to being out and about and wearing a light jacket instead of my Winter coat.
I'm on CD9 today and I poas (the opk kind) and got the faintest of second lines. I'm thinking that means I'll be O'ing sooner than I did last cycle. It's always nice to be fertile on the weekend. I'm hoping that I'm far enough away from peak so that we can have fun tonight and Sunday...that would be perfect timing. But knowing my luck, we will DTD tonight and I'll get a positive tomorrow and be SOL. Keep your fingers crossed that I don't get a positive tomorrow...that it holds off until at least Sunday. We'll be alone Monday night and we tend to be more frisky when we are alone. wink wink.
I hope everyone has a great weekend!

Now the Waiting Begins
We actually had "relations" last night, can you believe it? And don't you just love how we IF girls spew the most private of details out where everyone can read about it? So now we wait. And since I ovulated on CD10 I have a bit longer than 2 weeks. I'm going to try and stay positive that we weren't too late or too early and maybe the power of positive thinking will get me somewhere. You know, like off this seemingly never ending road of disappointment and failure.
This morning it was twice as warm outside as yesterday morning. However, it was still only 30 degrees. I'm so done with Winter and cold weather. I'm a warm weather kind of girl, for sure. Living in Southern California for 4 years when I was a kid spoiled me to no end. We actually got some flurries last night that coated the grass and driveway. I'm over the snow. There are still piles of it all up and down the road and in parking lots...it just won't melt. And it's only early January. Yay.
We have been invited to join our friends (one of which will be celebrating his 50th b-day) in Atlantic City later this month. I need to check to see if we can get a comp room because if we can't, then we aren't going. We had fun with them the last time we went...last January...so if we go, I'm sure it will be a good time. Of course, this all makes me think about the last time we went to A.C. and I was stimming and getting ready for ER. Seems like a lifetime ago but at the same time it seems like just yesterday. I guess the emotions are still pretty raw from all of that. That was our last get away that the 2 of us took so we are due for one. We usually go away in September but we were saving for the house so we didn't go anywhere. It's time.
I don't want to use our real names on this blog but I highly doubt that anyone IRL reads it. If they did, I'm sure they would know who we are by what I write, anyway. I'm going to post some pictures of us pretty soon. And I think I might post some pictures of my scrapbooking work. I'm going to make what's called a Paper Album for BJ for Valentine's Day. It's a small paper album (as the name suggests) that has 12 or 16 pages in it. And it comes with paper and stickers for you to do with as you see fit. It's like a greeting card but it's full of pictures. He has framed photos on his desk of us and the Little Guy that are 3 years old. They were professionally taken pictures so they are nice...but they are old. And the people in his office recently said that they are tired of looking at them. :-) So I'm going to select and print some of my favorite group and couple shots of us for this paper album and he can set it on his desk and people can just come by and flip through it. Or he can stand it up and sort of fan it out to let folks see inside. I figure it's better than buying a store bought card and what do you get a guy for Valentine's Day? So that being said, I will have the pictures on a flash drive here at work so I may as well post them, right? I need to get cracking because the best day for me to work on this is MLK, Jr. day and I need to get the pictures printed soon! That way you guys can put a face to the blog.
