- Having leftover meatloaf on a sandwich for lunch. So yummy. If you’ve ever wondered what to do with your leftover meatloaf wonder no more. Just slice a piece kind of thin and put it on a sandwich with some ketchup and you will be good to go. BJ loves them in his lunch, too.
- The Little Guy hitting a triple at his game on Saturday. He has been struggling to hit the ball (mainly because he hasn’t been swinging the bat) and his first time up on Saturday he got a triple! So exciting. Unfortunately, he pulled/strained his groin muscle on his next at bat (it was a base hit, though!) so he’s been nursing it ever since. We are keeping him out of tonight’s game hoping that he’ll be good to go on Saturday.
- My Capitals winning Monday night and evening the series to one game apiece! They played so hard and made me so nervous that at one point I actually jumped up onto the ottoman! My husband just laughs at me. I can’t help it. I’ve been a fan since early 1995...this team is like my baby and I just want them to WIN the Stanley Cup already! They’ve never won it so they are definitely due.
- My rosebushes are just about in full bloom. I have 2 pink knockout bushes (one on either side of my front steps) and I was afraid that the cold snaps we’ve been having would prevent them from blooming but they have fought back. There are many blooms and at least 100 buds on each bush that will be blooming in the next few days hopefully. Now if only my gardenia bushes would bloom I’d have one of the prettiest gardens on our street.
- Getting the all clear to start my PIO shots tonight! That’s right, people...the donor’s blood work came back great and retrieval is all set for tomorrow. Unfortunately, they didn’t run her E2 today so I don’t have a number to obsess over. But there will be EGGS tomorrow...young eggs...hopefully normal eggs! I told BJ yesterday that he’s in charge of making a baby on Thursday. And he said, hopefully. And I said...NO hopefully’s about it...only positive thinking from here on out. Our baby will be made tomorrow. I can’t believe it’s finally here. I have tears in my eyes right now just thinking about the enormity of the situation. Please keep hoping and praying as there is still a long way to go and I realize that. I’m just so happy right now that I don’t want to think of anything but a positive outcome.

Happiness Is...
- Gazing at the early Spring trees and all their pretty blooms. Commuting is not as bad when there is something nice to look at. Up and down the highway and up on Capitol Hill, all the early blooming trees are white and pink and purple and then there’s the green ones with the red berry things...so pretty.
- Having a sort of “me” week. I bought a new every-day purse (for the first time in about 4 or 5 years) on Monday. On Tuesday I got my hair cut and yesterday I got a pedicure. It’s not very often that I do that many things for myself in such a short amount of time. It feels good.
- Wearing sandals and not freezing! Since I got my first pedicure of the season yesterday I wore sandals and it feels GREAT! I love taking my socks and shoes off and letting my toes breath. And now they are pretty, too!
- Making a new blog-buddy. It’s hard to find women that are in just about the same place as me as far as the DE cycle goes but I have! Her name is Augusta and you should check her out. She just chose her donor and is waiting on a complete match as she is sharing her donor as well. Hop on over to her blog and wish her well.
- Getting an e-mail from my coordinating nurse telling me to skip my inactive BCP and start a new pack of active pills because the 3rd recipient is (finally) due to start her period this weekend! Yeah! I thought for sure that I’d have one more AF before we got started but it’s looking like I will be skipping right over her. How cool is that?

Happiness Is...
I haven’t done one of these posts in forever and since I am just playing the waiting game these days I need to force myself to focus on other positive things going on in my life. So here goes...
- My knockout roses are showing signs of life. I love these rose bushes. I have 2 of them on either side of my porch steps and they have a history of growing really big and full and having tons of blooms all through Summer. I noticed the little “sprigs” last weekend. Yay for Spring!
- The Little Guy starting baseball! He just finished up basketball where he did so much better than last year and we are heading straight into baseball. He has a 2-day camp coming up and then tryouts are on 3/17. Can’t wait to use my new camera to get pictures of him hitting the ball and running!
- Warmer weather taking over. Aside from yesterday and today our temperatures are steadily climbing day by day. I love Spring, it’s just a preview of great things to come with sunshine and flowers and green trees...I can’t wait.
- Getting back in the gym. I fell off the wagon and it traveled 100 miles without me but it has circled back around and it took all I had but I climbed back on. I’m just about to go down to the gym now and do my daily 25 minute walk. It feels good to be doing something even if it’s not really for weight loss.
- Hearing from my mom. She’s alive and still has a roof over her head and that is reassuring. It’s not an ideal situation, but she’s ok and that’s what matters to me. I haven’t heard from her since September so the surprise phone call last week put my mind at ease.

Happiness Is...
I did not proof read this post so I apologize for any errors in advance...major time crunch here. :-)
- Opening a door in my house (whether it’s my bedroom, the garage or the bathroom) and having little Gizmo meow loudly, throw himself on the floor, roll on his side and stretch (as only kitties can do) himself out so that his belly is fully exposed for me to rub. He’s such a sweetie and so damn loveable. I thanked him for being my personal escort every time I leave the powder room on the first floor. He sits and waits for me to come out and sometimes he puts his little paw under the door so that I touch it. He doesn’t escort BJ the same way so I feel a little special. :-)
- A beautiful weather weekend coming up. It will be in the mid-80’s and not nearly as humid as it has been. I can’t wait to spend some time outside Saturday cleaning up my rose bushes and maybe buying a new set of hanging baskets for the porch. The ones we have are just about dead. It got so hot that no matter how much I watered them they are just wilting away.
- Working out on a regular basis again. I’m not doing a lot right now because I work out on my lunch break and don’t want to get all sweaty and nasty. The things I have been doing are making me feel better. I’ve also declared war on my will power and have been trying to be a lot more cautious about what I’m eating and how much of it. I’ve put on almost 10 pounds this last year and I want it GONE. It might take a while but as long as I’m working on it, I’m happy with myself.
- Rita’s frozen custard. I had never been there before and we have one right in our town. BJ and I decided to try it out about a month or so ago. O.M.G.!! I love soft serve ice cream and this stuff is the best I’ve had in a long time! I had the chocolate (natch) with chocolate sprinkles and ate it out of a cup. It was so smooth and creamy and just melted (well duh) in my mouth. We’ve had it 2 more times since then. There is a place on the boardwalk down by where we used to live that serves soft serve ice cream and they have been my favorite for the longest time. Now this frozen custard stuff is trying to steal its place in my heart.
- Communicating with other bloggers . I love the blogging community, which is no secret. I always receive support and understanding from my readers. I know that I can come here and spout things and even if it sounds crazy or doesn’t make any sense I know that I am safe here. And for all of you new mommies (and not so new mommies) and you pregnant ladies...do not ever feel like you can’t comment or that I don’t want to hear from you just because you are on the “other side”. I love to hear from ALL of you.

Happiness Is...
- Spending 4 days off work with my honey. We didn’t do much but we hung out together, ran a few errands, did some cleaning, went to a cookout, set off some fireworks with the Little Guy, slept in and just enjoyed each other. We didn’t seem to get on each other’s nerves much at all. :-)
- Having both my cats on my lap at once. It has never happened before and I don’t know if it will happen again, but wow. First, Smokey was on my lap like usual. Then all of a sudden, Gizmo jumped up on the couch and laid down on me. He was half on my mid-section and half on the couch. I told BJ to hurry up and snap a picture with his phone. Gizmo rarely comes up on the couch when there is more than one of us sitting there, let alone when Smokey is laying with me. It didn’t last but maybe 2 minutes but I loved it.
- A quick conversation with my mother over the weekend. I haven’t heard from her since my birthday. She’s “ok”, whatever that means in her world. She’s alive and seems to be ok, and I’m thankful for that.
- Watching Rocky movies over the weekend. We watched the end of Rocky IV, Rocky V, Rocky, Rocky II and Rocky III...in that order. They were playing the movies back to back on AMC. I haven’t seen those movies in YEARS and didn’t remember a lot of them so it was like watching them for the first time. When Rocky IV came on again I wanted to watch it from the beginning because I couldn’t remember how he lost his fortune (BJ told me but I wanted to SEE it) but BJ said he just couldn’t sit through one more movie. Poor guy.
- A new word game on my phone. I downloaded Word Whirl (I think that’s it) and have been playing it like crazy. It’s like my Kindle game of Every Word but it plays “faster”. I love word games and this is just the game for me. Plus, it was free!

Happiness Is...
- Corn on the cob. I love corn on the cob, especially since we learned how to boil fresh corn ourselves last summer. I’m not much of a culinary expert so when I finally figure out that I can do things on my own in the kitchen, I’m pretty happy about it.
- The heat advisory was lifted. I love the hot weather, but not so hot that it’s hard to breathe outside.
- Our lilies are blooming very nicely...the ones we transplanted from the front of our porch to around our mailbox. They look so nice with the coral colored drift roses that I can’t help but smile at them every time I turn onto our street.
- The LG is having a baseball game “under the lights” tomorrow night. Game time is not until 7:00 and there will be an announcer there to announce the starting lineup (which basically means all the kids will get to hear their name announced over the PA system). We are very excited and need to remember to bring the bug spray.
- My little Gizmo climbing up on the couch 2 different times last night to get loved on and to lay with me for a few minutes. He’s not a snuggle cat, as much as we tried to make him one, so these times when he seeks us out to lay with us on the couch are treasured moments.
- Getting on the scale at my appointment last week and being pleasantly surprised by the fact that I am 2 pounds lighter than the last time I was weighed a few months ago. Smaller scale numbers are enough to make anyone happy.

Happiness Is...
- The Little Guy pitching in his first game last week. He threw 4 or 5 strikes and walked a few batters so he wasn’t happy with himself so we did our best to tell him how proud we all are of him. He said he was afraid of hitting someone (like he did in practice) but he didn’t and we told him that he should be proud of accomplishing that goal. Even though his debut was on Thursday (the day of the official phone call about the end of my pregnancy) it was so much fun to watch him and cheer for him and try to calm him down when we could tell that he was getting frustrated. I can’t wait for him to pitch again.
- The weather lately. In our area of the country we have a habit of getting about 2 weeks of Spring and then it jumps straight to hot and humid Summer temperatures. This year we are definitely having a Spring. It’s been in the low 70’s for about a week now and even though we’ve had some pretty chilly days, it’s nice to make a slow transition to Summer.
- Strawberries and fruit dip for an after dinner snack. The fruit dip is really easy to make and it’s not that bad for you even though it tastes like it is. Just mix one tub of cool whip lite with most of the contents of a container of blueberry yogurt. It’s best to let the cool whip soften in the fridge for a while before mixing. And I guess you could add the whole container of yogurt but I don’t. Then just dip the berries (any berries, really) in the mixture and enjoy. Everyone loves it when I make it for get togethers.
- Rubbing the tummy of my Gizmo. He’s the sweetest little cat. When I come out of our bedroom in the morning he’s waiting for me and he throws himself down on the floor to expose that soft fluffy belly and just lets me rub and rub and rub. He rolls back and forth and meows and squeaks....it’s great. He does this when I come home from work on most days, too. He purrs so loudly and just looks at me with big loving eyes....melts my heart.
- Writing this post. It’s not easy right now to come up with happy things but there are things that make me smile and I do have things to get out of bed for every day. I have a job, a car, a house, a husband, a step son, my parents, other extended family, kitties and my overall health. All things to be happy about.

Happiness Is...
- The Little Guy will get to pitch his first game tonight (provided we don't get rained out)! And not only that, but he's playing against his "step-brothers'" team. His mother's boyfriend's boys are on the opposing team. It will be so great to see him pitch in a game for the first time. He's nervous about it so I need to find a way to help him relax.
- getting an Easter basket from my husband for the first time ever! I always make him and the LG one but this year I actually got one, too. We exchanged baskets on Monday because we didn't have the LG on Sunday. My basket was very special because it was actually a recycled Christmas basket (it still had Christmas holly decorations on it). :-) BJ must have picked the first basket he saw in our basement to fill with goodies. I received lots of chocolate....yummm and a huge Reese's peanut butter egg! I haven't "cracked" into that one just yet.
- finding a new potato chip that I like...Pop! Chips. The bbq are my favorite, they have the slightest little kick to them. The best part is that they are natural, really. They are sort of like Pringles but thicker and puffier. Hard to explain. Check them out if you are a chip lover.
- having a dream last night about POAS and getting a positive. I was crying while peeing on the stick and then when I turned it over to look at the results I had to wipe the tears out of my eyes to see that there were actually 2 lines. I can't even explain the emotions that came over me. I woke up and was very disappointed that it was just a dream and I don't give much credence to dreams, but it was nice to have that really happy feeling for a few minutes. Even if it was all in my head.
- finally getting a glimpse of Sarah's new bundle of joy! She and her husband are adopting a baby and she gets to meet him for the first time today...her birthday! Please go and congratulate her...and let her know what a cute little guy she has.

Happiness Is...
- writing this post...there are other things in my life going on right now other than just my IVF.
- watching the Little Guy play his first kid pitch game last weekend. They lost but it was close and very intense for us spectators. He plays again tonight and I am hoping for a better outcome for him. He didn't get to actually hit the ball Sunday...he was walked twice and hit with the ball once (just his hand, nothing serious).
- sitting in my living room and looking out the window. The trees are finally filling in and we have a natural Dogwood that is in bloom and some other purple tree that has finally bloomed so we have some color back there.
- watching hockey playoffs. My team won in overtime last night and it was pretty exciting stuff. I hope they can keep it together and actually be a real contender this year. They deserve it as hard as they have worked.
- staying home to rest today. I started to get a very nasty sore throat yesterday afternoon and by the time I got home I could barely swallow it hurt so bad. I decided to come home after my monitoring appointment this morning and get some rest. I slept on and off for 2 hours and feel like I could take another nap. I might just do that. I need to be rested and as well as possible for my ER.
- getting a personal call from Dr. M, my RE. He personally called me an hour ago to congratulate me on my progress so far. I will share the details after my call from the nurse comes in but I can trigger tonight and ER will be on Saturday! He said he just couldn't resist calling me himself to give me the good news. I was scared when I realized it was him on the other end and not my nurse. The last time he called me was to give me the news that we were canceling the cycle. Yay for trigger tonight! Now, if I could just get my nurse to call with my times...soon hopefully.

Happiness Is...
- the Little Guy had his first practice this last Saturday and it was so much fun. I so wish I could be a coach. Now that he's playing kid pitch (as opposed to machine pitch) I think the games are going to be so much more exciting. His coach is one of our neighbors that we got to know even before our houses were built and we really like his style and his dedication. He picked the LG to be on his team and we couldn't be happier. The LG was the first kid that got to practice pitching...and he loved it!
- getting a big laugh out of my husband last night. We were sitting on the couch and the LG was taking a shower. We heard something in the distance and BJ asked me if it was thunder or a helicopter. So I said, "I don't know, maybe you should rewind it." We both laughed really hard at that. See...we have a DVR and whenever we miss something we always just say "rewind it". It's so bad that we've even tried to do it for things we miss on the radio. We are so spoiled.
- chili dogs for dinner tonight. We had chili Tuesday night for dinner and decided to have chili dogs with the leftovers. I love a good chili dog.
- green grass, blooming trees and more daylight in the evening. I love this time of year. We are having a local nursery (plant, of course) send someone out to our house tomorrow evening to help us plan our front yard plant bed. I can't wait to dig up what the builder put in and expand things a little bit and make it the way I want it.
- BJ asking me if I'm sure I'm not pregnant because of all this boob pain I'm having. I told him that I had a pretty normal period. And then I got to thinking...my periods have been so light and short since my last IVF what if I mistakenly thought it was normal? It was a fleeting moment but the thought was there. How crazy would that have been?
- things are going ok with the new boss so far. Granted it's only been since Monday and he was traveling yesterday but still. I saved him from missing his connecting flight home yesterday so I figured I earned some brownie points
- my old boss has called me twice already! It's good to hear her voice and to hear how she's liking her first week of retirement. She's had a couple of technical questions (she's NOT technically inclined at all) about her iPhone and I have helped her. Some things never change.

Happiness Is...
It's been way too long since I have done of these and I need to get back to it...so here goes.
- noticing the trees up on Capitol Hill are starting to get the tiniest of buds on them...Spring is coming!
- attending a crop for charity last Saturday and getting quite a bit of work done. I'm about 2 years behind on our family album (that's so sad) so it was really good to get some pages done.
- having a conversation with my little Gizmo. It usually goes something like this:
me - where's your paper? (his most favorite thing to chase/fetch/bat around is balled up paper!)
him - quiet meow that is barely audible
me - where's your paper??
him - high pitched squeak
me - did you lose it under the stove again?
him - loud squeaky meow
me - I go hunting for the paper and if I can't find it, I make him a new toy. :-)
He's so much fun
- the Little Guy has baseball tryouts this Saturday! Yay for baseball being back. He will be playing kid pitch this year so we are very excited. Tryouts are basically just to place players in a fair manner onto each team. He will have a team within a couple of weeks and then practices will be starting!
- going to see my sister and her kids Monday! She's getting married in June and I'm in the wedding. We haven't seen each other since the Summer of 2003. We've had a strained relationship over the years but thanks to FB we have reconnected. I'll write more about my family eventually but for now I'm just very excited to see her and my nephew and meet my niece for the first time.
- getting a new decal for the back window of my trailblazer. It was the Redskins emblem but it was old and tired and I decided I needed a change. So now I have the Capitals emblem back there. I couldn't thank BJ enough for putting it on for me...now I'm stylin'!

Happiness Is...
- feeling PROactive in my attempt to expand our family. It feels good to have a plan (and an appointment) in place. I'm trying not to get carried away on the Hope Train, but it's hard. For now I am just happy to be doing something.
- going to a small crop on Saturday and getting 12 pages done. I could have done more, but I ran out of pictures. That never happens...well I guess I can't say never. I need to print some more to keep my streak going.
- my new winter coat from Land's End. It's so warm...and I have needed it so much this winter. It was 10 degrees this morning and the only thing that was cold on me was my legs (from mid thigh down). I bought it online which is very tricky for me because I really like trying coats on, but it turned out to fit just fine.
- trying a new recipe and realizing how GOOD it is. I made homemade chicken pot pie last week from a recipe I got online. YUMMY...and the family loved it too. We had it 2 nights in a row! It's great comfort food for this time of year.
- ordering curtains for our bedroom and our office and getting a great deal. I went to the store last weekend while they were having a buy one get one 50% off sale on curtains. Found the ones I wanted but they didn't have enough. The sales lady said that she would check the computer because sometimes when she orders them they ring up for even less. She was right! The regular price was $30 so buying 6 (we have 3 windows) would have put me at $135. When she ordered them all online for store delivery, they came up to $15 each...for us math whizzes that's a total of $90! Wow! Today, I got an e-mail from the store with an offer for an extra 15% off (for 5 hours only) and free shipping so I ordered some for the office. My order total was $81 with a savings of $103 between the sale and the extra % off. I did good, if I do say so myself. Can't wait until they all get here. The bedroom curtains will ship to the store for free shipping.
- my iPhone...what can I say about it? I love reading blogs and commenting (when I can) while on the go. It's great. Plus, I love having FB right at my fingertips. My husband has called me a dork on several occasions because of what I'm posting these days. I can't help it...I love being able to post on the move and in the moment. :-) And if that makes me a dork, well so be it.
- finding a great deal on reusable bags. You know those grocery bags that everyone under the sun is selling to get us to cut back on plastic bags? Well I finally bought some. I didn't want to pay the price for the ones that I really liked and then others were...not my taste per se. Walking through the sports store yesterday I found a huge rack of Capitals bags on clearance for all of .23 each! I picked up 10! Now that's a deal. AND it doesn't matter what store I'm shopping at when I fill those bags. Go me for being greener!

Happiness Is...
- my husband turning on the little heater in the bathroom before I got out of bed this morning. I didn't even feel him get up. When my alarm went off and I patted his hand (a little good morning ritual) as I was getting out of bed he told me that he turned my heater on for me. That warranted a quick snuggle and some kisses!
- eating a Reese's Cup that has been in the refrigerator for a couple of hours. I love Reese's Cups room temperature or cold but having one cold for the first time in...let's see...forever, was great. The old commercials state that there is no wrong way to eat one. I disagree with that. :-) I like to eat the edges off and then, if I can, peel the chocolate off the top and bottom and then eat the peanut butter that is left. Mmmm...so good.
- Gizmo laying with me on the couch last night. This might seem trivial to most cat owners because most cats love to lay with their humans. Gizmo is not like that. I know he's still a baby, but it's been very difficult to adjust to a more independent cat. My Smokey loves to lay on me or next to me whenever she can. Gizmo, on the other hand, is perfectly happy laying by himself. We have tried to pick him up and put him on the couch with us and that lasts about 6 seconds before he's gone. I was sitting on the couch and BJ was in the shower. The Little Guy had gone to bed and I was on my laptop working on a digital scrapping project. Gizmo jumped up and laid half on me and half on the couch. He was just purring away and couldn't get enough love. Then he really surprised me by climbing up on me (I had to push the computer further down my legs) so that he could lay on my chest and rub his face against my face. It was so sweet. And now I know that he really does love me. :-) He stayed for quite a while and I just let him. There's something so great about talking to a kitten like he's a person. My heart is melting just thinking about it. Then BJ came downstairs and Gizmo stayed on the couch for about 30 more seconds. He loves being pet(ted?), but on the floor. He will lay down and roll over when he wants attention. Anyway, it was really nice to bond with Gizmo like that.
- the sun is back and it's Friday! And I have a short week next week! We are off Thursday and I took Friday off. Yay!
- when my sister posts pictures of my niece (whom I've never met) and my nephew on FB. I love looking at how they've grown. It's hard to believe that I can love 2 people that don't really know. I haven't been around my nephew since he was 2 1/2 and like I said, I've never met my niece. She's 2 1/2 and he's almost 9. Wow...I'm getting old for sure.

Happiness Is...
- going to the corn maze and pumpkin patch tomorrow afternoon with the SIL and her family. Since we are unable to trick or treat with the Little Guy this year at least we still get some good Fall activity with him. I love the pictures I get when we go to the pumpkin patch. I'm excited about the corn maze, too. We went through a garden maze last summer when we went to Luray Caverns and it was confusing to say the least. This corn maze is HUGE in comparison. I hope we can find our way out.
- wiping my cabinets down after the husband, very thoughtfully, cut my apple with the apple corer and splashed juice everywhere. He had it all over himself and our pretty cabinets. I dipped my perfectly sliced apple into some yummy peanut butter after the mess was cleaned up. When he did it, he just turned and looked at me with that "I can't believe that just happened" look on his face. It was great.
- a bright and sunny day today...and tomorrow. I love the sunshine and it will be a little warmer today and tomorrow than it has been so that makes it even better. I think we should wear a little sunscreen before heading to the maze tomorrow. It might be October but the sun can still burn us.
- laughing at my own folly this morning. We have overhead cabinets at work. I store things up there like, my pens, paperclips, scissors, things like that. I have a spinning organizer that I keep all that stuff in. It's not on my desk because things have a way of disappearing when it's left out. Anyway, I had 1/2 a candy bar up in the cabinet that I was planning on eating this afternoon. I love something sweet around 3:00...sorry, I digress. I opened the cabinet and turned the spinning organizer to get to my paperclips and wouldn't you know...the spinning thing turned the candy bar and made it fall out of the cabinet. Why is this funny? Because it landed right in the middle of my cup of Diet Pepsi. Thankfully, it didn't knock the cup over. It did, however, splash soda all over my desk and note pad. What are the chances? It made me laugh and I'm surprised no one asked me why I was laughing. Pretty embarassng to say the least.
- only 2 more weeks of work and I am off for 2 days! Yippie!

Beginning of the 2ww
We had a good weekend. Friday night was not a scrapping night for me as I decided to go down to Rick and Leslie's with BJ. I had a few glasses of wine and played Wii with Leslie while BJ played pool with Rick. We made it an early night because Leslie had to work early Saturday morning. BJ agreed to go to the shed place with Rick Saturday and then head over to the farmer's market/flea market. The weather was pleasant and we walked and browsed and came home with some tomatoes and some good apples. Then we went to lunch with Rick. Rick is 50 but I don't think he looks his age. The waitress brought over the check and gave it to Rick. The thought running through my head was that she figured he was our dad. BJ pulled out his wallet and we paid with our card and took cash from Rick. When she came back, she handed the slip to Rick again! Later, BJ told me that he was going to call Rick "dad" but didn't want to offend him. It's funny that he and I both thought the same thing about the situation.
We went to the Halloween store to get a few things to decorate the front porch. We didn't buy much but ended up spending just over $100. Sheesh! Then on Sunday, BJ washed his truck and I did some laundry and we watched football. My poor Redskins...they put up a good fight but ended up losing. I (and most everyone else) thought we'd get creamed, but they hung in there and they forced turnovers and held Peyton to just 27 points...not to shabby for a team that went 4-12 last year. I'm proud of the progress they have made as a team this year. I still love Peyton, but I was so hoping he'd lose.
I did some opk testing Friday and Saturday. Friday was very negative. Saturday afternoon's test was really close to positive so I knew that ovulation was probably going to happen Sunday. We did the deed Friday night so I knew we wouldn't be doing anything Saturday as well. I felt pretty confident that anything that was still swimming around would be ok since I was having some major ewcm. I tested Sunday morning and it looked the same as Saturday afternoon so I knew we needed to get things done soon. I tried all day to get my husband in that bed...he seems to think that sex is something we can only do at night. I started feeling the ovary pain at 5:00pm. I was finally able to get BJ into the sack around 7:00pm. My ovary hurt so bad I wasn't sure if I was going to be able to continue. I haven't felt pain like that during sex in a long time...I find it odd that I feel pain in my ovary when my ovaries have nothing to do with the actual act of sex. Strange. Anyway, BJ was oblivious and eventually the pain became tolerable so the job got done. So now I wait. And I hope. And I dream. And I imagine.
I would like to think that we timed things really good this time. Friday and Sunday with ovulation Sunday night seems pretty good, right? I sure do hope so. It's time to start analyzing everything going on in my body. I now think I don't produce enough progesterone. My temp spikes are hardly noticeable anymore. Today's temp (I usually spike 2 days after O'ing) was only a tenth of a degree higher. I hope it goes higher because I would hate to think that I have yet another obstacle against me. Infertility keeps throwing me curve balls and I can't seem to figure anything out anymore.
So here's to the 2ww!

Happiness Is...
- getting 20 scrapbook pages done on Monday! It's such a great feeling to accomplish something like that. We worked (on and off) for about 6 hours. It was tough with my niece being there, but I still got a lot done. I was on a roll until BJ and the Little Guy got home and I had to stop. I am so far behind...I was working on November and December of 2008 pictures. I signed up for an all day crop on 11/13 so I hope to finish out the year and start on 2009 pictures.
- looking at campers and thinking about buying one in the Spring. I've wanted a camper for about 3 years because of all the possibilities it brings for weekend get aways and getting out in nature. The Little Guy's mother and boyfriend bought a used one a couple of years ago and the Little Guy loves to go camping. So we are thinking about getting one that is family friendly with bunks to bring along little friends and/or cousins.
- deciding not to give up our dream of a backyard paradise but to alter the plan a little bit. BJ had his heart set on an in ground pool, and I mean set. It was one of the main reasons we picked this lot to build on. After meeting with a guy and looking at options, he knows it's not a reality for us right now. He has caved on the idea of an above ground pool. They are 1/4 (at least) of the price of an in ground and just as much fun as far as I'm concerned. So that will be something we probably do with our tax refund next year. (of course I'd rather do another IVF but there's no guarantee that we'd get a baby out of it. At least a pool is something we know we can enjoy and have fun with.)
- leftover sloppy joe's for lunch today. I already ate them (2 small ones on hamburger rolls) so I'll probably be starving at 2:00, but they were yummy!
- loving my new dining room table. It fits in the space just right. It's about 4 1/2 feet each way and it's counter height. I was at the grocery store Saturday morning when it arrived. I loved coming in the door and seeing it there. I put a wire bowl with some small fake pumpkins and leaves in it in the center and it looks like Fall.
- my 'Skins pulling off a dramatic overtime win against a team no one thought we could beat. They showed that they didn't give up...and that is something new to this team.
- AF lasting only a day and a half (she arrived at bedtime Friday). As much as I hate her, I like the fact that her visits are pretty short. It lets me jump right back in that much quicker.

Happiness Is...
- my 200th post! Wow, I have a lot to say. This is my 200th post and I couldn't be happier to have found the blogosphere. My readers (regular, lurkers, newbies and passers by) have made such a difference in my outlook on TTC and IF in general. Thank you all so much for taking the time to read and comment and just let me know that you are out there. I cherish all of you, really.
- pre-season hockey is back! We played our first pre-season game last night and came out on top. I am so excited for this season that I just can't help but smile when I think about it.
- planning to make a new folder in my reader. I have the Infertility folder, the PG after Infertility folder and have decided that I'm going to make a Baby after Infertility folder. I have several blogs that I read that have had babies in the past few months and I have not yet re-categorized them. I'm not sure why, but I think it has something to do with being left behind. Creating this new folder is a sign that some get to move on to mommy-hood and I'm still left here fighting. I'm elated for them and I love seeing pictures and reading stories. I can't wait for them to post so I can see how much their bundle has grown. I think the folder is just a way for me to let others move on. Does that make sense? So for that, I am happy.
- my Kindle. I know I have spoken of it here before, but I love it. It makes reading so easy and convenient and anything that does that, is ok in my book. I have read 8 or 10 books this year alone. I usually only read 3 or so books a year. I can shop by topic or author and it makes the process so much easier. One of the greatest gadgets of all time.
- a few more hot days before Fall really sets in. I like the weather a little cooler, but Fall just reminds me of the cold and snow and ice on the way. So I am enjoying these unusually warm days for the time being. I love walking outside at lunch and even though I broke a sweat yesterday, it was better than being cooped up inside because it's too cold to go out.

Happiness Is...
- planning to go dining room table shopping Saturday. Why would I put this in a Happiness post, you ask? Because I'm staying positive that we will find a table!
- hearing that our shades for the kitchen eat-in area are going to ship on 9/1. I can't wait for BJ to put them up. I think they will look really nice and keep out most of the sun, lessening the need for the a/c.
- a bagel with cream cheese for breakfast. MMMMM! I found a WW cream cheese that is only 1 point for 2 tbs. AND it tastes good! Not like the philly low fat or non fat kind...yuck.
- my husband going to the grocery store so that I don't have to. I hate food shopping. I always freeze in the store and it's such a hassle...taking the food off the shelf then putting it on the belt then putting the bags in the cart then putting the bags in my truck then taking the bags inside then putting it all away...I hate the whole process. BJ said that it wasn't fair to make me stop after work all the time when we needed stuff and that he gets down the road way before me and that he could stop...so he DID! Yay! for a husband that will go the grocery store!
- a beautiful sunny day outside. I'm going for a walk at lunch today and I can't wait to get out in the warmth.

Happiness Is...
- sunshine and heat without the humidity. I went for a walk at lunch time and didn't even break a sweat. I love the warm sunshine and I will miss it in a couple of months when it's replaced by wind chills and cold weather.
- football being back! I know it's only preseason, but I'm stoked for it anyway. My team has a new QB this year and it's still hard for me to get behind him because I've been not liking him for so many years now, but I'm going to give it a shot.
- my husband verbalizing to me that he wants me to be pregnant. My last post might have made him out to be a sort of bad guy in this. He is not, for sure. He is someone that has never had to have sex on a schedule or be told when it was TIME for sex. He doesn't do well with the pressure of performing. He wants a baby with me. He said that a long time ago, before I was ready to throw out the bcp. He knows we are going on borrowed time right now. I was unusually tired last night and he said that he wished it was because I was pregnant. It was reassuring to hear him say that. It was also reassuring to hear him tell me that we would wait another day to have sex if I tested negative last night, which I did. He also said that he wants to do it tonight no matter what. :-) Like I said, he's a 'sex by the mood' kind of guy, not a schedule kind of guy. But it makes me happy to know that he is aware of my desire to be a mother and that he actually wants it to happen, too.
- knowing that tomorrow is Friday! It's what's getting me through today.
- my dining room curtains being delivered! I can't wait to put them up. I am going to Macy's tomorrow at lunch to find a nice curtain rod. I'm hoping they have some at the downtown store. My curtains were bought online from bed bath and beyond. They are the Venice (in silver) curtains. Very simple, but I think they look pretty elegant. And I think they will look even better once I get to paint. I'm not sure what color yet as BJ has nixed the red on top, white on bottom idea that I have wanted for so long. I am thinking of having him put shadow boxes around the room and painting the inside of them a deep red. I saw it at my neighbor's house and I really liked it. I just need to figure out what color the walls should be...
- BJ promising me that we would get Frosties this weekend! We saw a commercial last night and he said he wanted one and I had to agree, so he said we would be getting some this weekend!

Happiness Is...
- doing a happiness is post. I have missed doing them and I need to get back in the habit. They remind me that the small things are what matter. And I'm sure it's nice for my readers too, as ya'll don't have to wonder what foul mood I'm in every day. :-)
- the Little Guy qualifying for honors classes for the 4th grade! He got straight A's on his last report card and only got 4 B's (I think) all year so he definitely deserves the upgrade. I just hope his dad and I can help him when he gets stuck on something.
- planning to get to together with friends from our old stomping grounds. We haven't seen them in months and I really miss them. And we have lots of celebrating to do because they recently won the state lottery! It's not like they can stop working, but they can relish being debt free and we couldn't be happier for them.
- my Smokey being on the mend! Her appointment went well and I have been instructed to give her the same eye ointment as Gizmo took to clear up her eyes. She ate at the office and she ate and even drank when she came home. She has no fever and the vet confirmed that her bloodwork looked good. She said that cats can carry the feline herpes virus and it can flare up under stress and cause her symptoms. Well, what could be more stressful than a pesky kitten jumping on you all day and not being able to get away from him? She laid on my lap for an hour last night and it was great to have her there. I have full confidence that she will get better and be back to her old self soon. I can't wait.
- watching my husband cuddle with Gizmo. Although it's hard to watch because I wish I could see our baby in his arms, I love watching him be sweet and tender with the kitten. He gives Gizmo kisses and talks baby talk to him and it warms my heart to see that side of him. The Little Guy was 4 when I came into their lives so I've never seen him like that. It's just too cute.
